Catching up with life

i haven’t been posting much these day as i’ve been knee deep in car parts restoring the money pit. last week i did meet with kaecshi to share with her some images i took at Bellyqueens performance.

my hands and fingers are so sore from working with nuts and bolts twisting and turning them with my fingers it hurts to type. we, mary and i are going to do a family portrait this weekend so i need to be able to feel the shutter so no more car work until next week. till then

Bellyqueen performance, 3/28/2010

last sunday 3/28/2010 i designed lighting for this concert and brought my camera along, hey you never know. besides designing the lights i did the projection screen and put up the red fabric to give the show some production value. the Kraine theater is a small black box with a running show in place. we couldn’t do much focusing so all i had a chance to do was re-gel some lighting, otherwise we would have had no warmth to our show.

i also ran the lighting board during the show and took these pictures from the booth. Kaeshi Chai the artistic director of Bellyqueen had some people come in and tape the show which i haven’t seen yet. this whole production was a family affair like one of those showbiz movies from the 40’s.

yes i did mange to get some in focus pictures but i find these types more interesting.

Search for the Empress sunday mar 28,2010

i am lighting a bellydance show tomorrow march 28,2010 at the kraine theater, 85 E 4th street, 7p show time ‘Called Search for the Empress’

this is for the bellyqueen what a lovely group of people. not much in the way of production since i’ve only seem one rehearsal but the dancing is soooo good, i am excited. did i mention the costumes wow……..so if you’ve nothing to do drop by and say hello.

oh i am a photographer, well i am also pretty good at lighting but this is so off the cuff i just hope to get something i can use out of this.
